Origin Knee Technique: Revolutionary method for knee replacement

The Origin Knee Technique is an innovative method for total knee replacement, developed at the Evangelical Hospital Vienna. Under the direction of Prim. Univ.-Doz. Dr. Thomas Müllner and Priv.-Doz. Dr. Maximilian Kasparek, this technique follows the motto “Back to the Origin”.
The focus is on the individual reconstruction of the biomechanics and anatomy of the knee, as it was before the arthrosis. The method takes into account that every knee is unique and a perfectly straight leg does not always correspond to the natural norm.

How does the Origin Knee Technique work?

  • 3D Navigation: Millimeter-precise bone cuts for optimal placement of the prosthesis.
  • Individual Adaptation: Consideration of the patient’s ligament tension and joint line.
  • Natural Function: Reconstruction of the original knee anatomy for a life as before arthrosis.

This method promises significant advances in the field of artificial knee replacement and sets new standards for individually tailored treatment for knee arthrosis.
