Bone fracture

The most common causes of bone fractures include direct or indirect trauma (e.g., accidents, falls, blows, or impacts to the affected bone)!

Furthermore, diseases such as osteoporosis or bone tumors can also lead to a bone fracture. The most common bone fractures include fractures of the wrist, shoulder, collarbone, hip, knee, and ankle.

Treatment depends on the location and extent of the bone fracture and can be either conservative or surgical. Impacted fractures can usually be treated conservatively with a cast. If, for example, the bone ends are no longer in contact with each other, surgery may be necessary.
